Carol and Jim own and operate Amber Moon Alpacas (formerly  Rebel Mountain Alpacas).

After working in a variety of corporate and government jobs, the family decided to pursue another lifestyle - that of breeding huacaya alpacas on their farm in Rochester Vermont. The alpacas will be surrounded by peace, quiet and tranquility in an area of Vermont that is off the beaten track. Wildflowers grow in abundance in every conceivable color. Lakes shimmer with the reflection of a blue sky as trees sway in the breeze from the mountains.

Winter brings snow and freezes the lakes and ponds, but the Amber Moon Alpacas love it as they romp and play.

Rebel Mountain is surrounded by National Forest lands and is a calm environment to raise God's beautiful creature - the alpaca.

Connie Chung
Connie Chung
Connie Chung is a beautiful lady known for her striking brown color. Her sire, SA Hucklefinn is medium silver grey with light silver grey parents. Her dam, NWA, Ltd Farina is dark fawn.
In June 2008 Connie was bred to Cangalli Gold's Quentin which produced a wonderful true black female cria on June 8, 2009! Quentin's Carolina Moon weighed in at 19 pounds! She is beautiful!

Connie was bred to Andean Bronze Calix on June 29, 2009.

Awards Received
2003 Empire Extravaganza - 2nd place in Halter

Andean Bronze Calix
Andean Bronze Calix
Calix was born 5/23/06 and Maple View Farm owner Deb Bratton said that during his vet check the assistant declared him the "alpaca poster child for cuteness"! Calix is often referred to by visitors as "The Bear" because of his great expanse of fiber which is pretty amazing - dense, crimpy with excellent coverage and a long staple length. He has  developed into a sriking male. Calix has great balance and style. At the Green Mountain Alpaca Fall Spectacular the judge felt that Calix displayed the attitude of a herdsire (he does have his sire's personality!), and awarded him 3rd for his overall typey style, consistent fleece characteristics and exceptional regrowth. Calix is proudly co-owned with Maple View Farm Alpacas.

Awards Received
2007 CNY Classic - 3rd in Shorn
2007 AFNCA National Fleece Show - 1st
2007 GMAFS - 3rd

Andean Bronze Calix is available for breeding at your farm (mobile) or at Maple View Farm Alpacas in Brandon (drive-by). Please contact us for more details at 802.247.5412 .

Carolina Moon
Here is Quentin's Carolina Moon. She was born on June 8, 2009 and weighed 19 pounds! Her color is "true black" out of her beige sire, Quentin, and her dam, Connie Chung who is brown. Apparently Quentin has a recessive black gene and Carolina Moon is the result! What a beauty she is!

Carolina Moon's full sister Cheyenne Moon is shown in the left hand photo and is the second alpaca from the right. Cheyenne is so proud of her little sister!

Here is Quentin's Cheyenne Moon at the Carolina Alpaca Celebration in Concord, NC in February 2009! Cheyenne won second place in a class of 12 beige female juvenile alpacas. She is 8 months old in this photo.

At the Northeast Alpaca Expo in Syracuse, NY Cheyenne Moon won fourth place out of a class of 12 beige female juvenile alpacas. The judge said he particularly liked her density and long staple length.

Awards Received
2009 Carolina Alpaca Celebration - 2nd place in Halter
2009 Northeast Alpaca Expo - 4th place in halter
