Amber Moon Alpacas at Amber Moon Farm on Rebel Mountain in Rochester Vermont is a small 58-acre alpaca farm created to offer a remarkable location to breed and raise one of Mother Nature’s most exquisite creatures – the huacaya alpaca.
Distinguished by its celebrated fiber – the “Fiber of the Gods” - alpaca leave virtually no carbon footprint on the environment - an acre of land can sustain 5 to 10 alpaca. Needing minimal care, plenty of fresh water, access to grass and hay, alpaca use a shared area for their droppings, which are organic and used for fertilizer for fields, gardens and flowerbeds. A gentle animal, alpaca are child-friendly animals with soft and lustrous hypoallergenic fiber cherished by crafters who knit, weave and crochet.

Amber Moon Farm is proud to be a part of an organic family-friendly green farm, a place where guests can enjoy winter activities like cross-country skiing and snow-shoeing, spring and summer hikes through the farm onto the National Forest and “leaf-peeping” in the beautiful Vermont Autumn all in view of the magnificent alpaca.
